Back-to-School FashionAug 11, 2017
Back-to-school shopping has always been a tradition in most households. And why not? Matching the excitement of a new school year with new clothes is an unparalleled thrill that only happens once a year. But don't let the kids have all the fun. Moms (and dads!) can get new" back-to-school" clothes, too, for work, or for pick-up/drop-off and the kids' activities.
Here's what's happening in the world of back-to-school fashion, for both bigs and littles.
Overalls. Not just for the farm anymore, overalls can be seen on girls from 5 to 25 this fall. But these aren't your grandpa's overalls - with a slimmer cut and on-trend distressing, pair with a cute striped tee for oodles of fall style.
Band tees. Just because the kids don't know who The Ramones are, doesn't mean they won't look uber-adorable sporting their band tee! Snag them (and yourself) a Van Halen, The Smiths, or Rolling Stones tee. The nostalgia - or reminder of your age - may make you tear up.
T-shirt dresses. Everyone knows that it's still sweltering in most part of the country when the start of school arrives. A t-shirt dress check all the boxes: trendy, comfortable, and cool. For you, add a snazzy blazer for the office, and you'll be work-appropriate.
Cardigans. Appropriate for both boys and girls, cardigans give a sophisticated look to any back-to-school outfit. A cardigan atop a dress or any basic tee and jeans combo makes the look extra special (and adds warmth, too). You can sport a cardigan, too, Mom!
Cool backpacks. Gone are the days when kids used to drag their bags on wheels or carry boring tote bags. Today's backpacks come in a myriad of fun colors and patterns. Or, if your little one is more sophisticated, choose a sleek faux leather option with clean lines. Just don't accidentally pick it thinking it's your work bag.
